Ranjeet Utikar is the Founder of VORTA. He is an academic at Curtin University, Australia where he leads the SMILE (Sustainable Manufacturing and InteLligent process Engineering) Lab, where his research focuses on process intensification, scale-up, multiphase flows, and sustainable energy.
With extensive experience across the chemical, oil & gas, and industrial biotechnology sectors, Ranjeet has worked with several multinationals on modelling, troubleshooting, and optimisation of industrial processes. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and presented at more than 50 international conferences.
He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, and has previously worked at CSIR-NCL, the University of Twente, and DSM Netherlands. He is a two-time winner of the Curtin Commercial Innovation Award (2017, 2019) and overall winner of Imagine Chemistry by AkzoNobel (2018).
